FaucetBOX Payment and Big Wins!

Had a great day with FaucetBOX sites yesterday and I've already been paid out in response with this to the tune of 57,065 Satoshi. This raises my personal total received to my wallet to 184,171 Satoshi.

It certainly helped that I put out my bucket and twice yesterday was rewarded with 10,000 Satoshi from two different leaky faucets! If you were wondering, those faucets were BitMais and BitPrepay. Maybe you'll have similar luck :)

I've also been looking into ways to spend my bitcoins sometime in the future and I'm thinking that I might buy some gift cards with the amount, when it comes time for it. Still not really sure about how it all works, but I will play it by ear and continue building up the Satoshi in the mean time.

My Journey

My journey started on Dec. 22, 2014. Before this, I'd only heard of Bitcoins, but never really looked into them. On the 22nd, I decided it was about time that I did. Since then I've off and on tried collecting, depending on my free time.

So from that moment, I've (officially) earned 7,572,776 Satoshi, which amounts to 0.07572776 Bitcoins. I'm actually rather proud of this number. Never in a million years did I think it would grow this fast.

Also - I've earned more Satoshi than this, but I've only listed the ones that are "officially" mine, because the others are still in a state of limbo, while I wait for them to be delivered from their temporary online wallets to my personal wallet.

The entirety of the earnings have come from free bitcoin faucets (basically a page full of ads with a captcha to fill out) - so yes, you really can earn real Bitcoins just by visiting free websites and filling in some captchas.

Some Tips and Tricks

I've learned some things along the way to make collecting from the free bitcoin faucets a little easier. Here I will share them with you!

1. Captchas don't have to be "exact". Don't worry about capitalization or punctuation and it will still accept.

2. If you can't read a captcha (sometimes they are just ridiculous), use the reload button to try for a new image.

3. Many times (but not always), you can simply press 'enter' from within the captcha window and it will submit the page without actually hitting the "Get Reward" button.

What are Bitcoins?

Bitcoins are a digital currency that has been gaining in popularity and acceptance since it was introduced in 2009. More information can be found on the Wikipedia page devoted to the subject.

Since Bitcoins are rather expensive, free faucets obviously can't give out whole Bitcoins for visiting. This is where Satoshi come in. The free faucets give varying amounts of Satoshi (like 50, 100, 500, etc.) simply for filling out a captcha.

Collecting these small amounts of Satoshi is rather like collecting spare change in a jar. Eventually the pennies grow in numbers and become dollars. In the same way, the Satoshi will eventually build up into full Bitcoins.
